People are more important than beer. But beer is pretty damn important. So we make great beer so you can enjoy it with great people.

Hemlock State was built to explore beer. It was formed by three avid homebrewers who love to cook and love to innovate. Let's be honest: we started this completely as a hobby and our hobby has gotten a bit out of hand. In the back of our collective mind somewhere, we thought maybe, just maybe we'd one day open a shop.

In 2015, we moved from our kitchen to a converted garage in Shoreline and opened on Saturdays to welcome anyone who'd be willing to give us a shot. The response completely blew us away. In our final two years in the garage, we weren’t able to keep up with demand and we scrambled to find a new home with capacity for us to grow.

This is for you folks. We brew the beer, but you make it special. We're super excited to bring the vibe that we had in our garage in Shoreline to Mountlake Terrace.
